Join us as we explore the Murphy strongholds of Kerry, Cork and Wexford and everywhere else in between.
Meet at Dublin Airport at 11am. Once we’ve everyone on board, we’ll take the road to Galway city. Once we’ve checked into our hotel we’ll take a few hours to stroll around the city with it’s wonderful pubs, award winning restaurants, cobble streets and enchanting craft shops, before we meet at 5pm for the first traditional music sessions in the famous Noughtan’s Bar. Our welcome dinner tonight is at 8pm.
After breakfast we meet at 11am to take a walking tour of the city with a local historian. (lasts approximately 1hr). It’s then back on the bus for the short journey to Oranmore Castle, home of Alec and Leonie Finn. We’ll get a guided tour of the castle and we’ll play a few tunes in the great hall before we make our way back to the city where you can spend the rest of the day exploring at your own pace.
Today we meet at 9.30 and pack up to take the road to Dingle, Co. Kerry. On route we’ll stop off at the world famous Cliffs of Moher before taking the ferry across the Shannon estuary and into Co. Kerry. Once in Dingle, we’ll check into our hotel before having a pint in Murphy’s Bar. Music tonight is in the Courthouse Bar with our good friend Tommy O’Sullivan.
Today we leave at 9.30am and embark on the infamous Ring of Kerry drive, taking in the breath-taking scenery, quaint Kerry villages and historical landmarks that make this one of the most famous drives in the world before arriving in the picturesque town of Killarney. Music tonight is in Murphy’s Bar at 9.30pm.
After breakfast, we leave Killarney at 9.30am for Kilkenny City. On route we travel through County Cork stopping off at Cashel for a visit to the Folk Museum. Once in Kilkenny we get a guided tour of the Castle before dinner and a few tunes in Bollard’s Bar at 8.30pm.
Today we make our way to Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, seat of the 1798 rebellion. We’ll pay a visit to the Father Murphy Centre, Vinegar Hill (scene of the 1798 rebellion) and the 1798 Centre. Music tonight at 9pm.
After breakfast, we’ll take a drive around Co. Wexford, visiting Wexford Town and New Ross, before returning to our hotel to get ready for our official Murphy Clan Gathering. After our meal, we’ll have an opportunity to meet other members of the Murphy Clan from home and abroad while being entertained by the amazing ‘Murphy’s Law’.
Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and make our journey back to Dublin for Noon.
